Leather Item Repair Steps: 1. Clean the area to be restored, ensuring that the damaged surface is free from debris, peelings, grease, moisture, etc. If the bottom of the damaged area is not filled with material or if the filling material has shifted or become loose. Please rebuild the area with similar material and secure the bottom. 2. For cuts and holes larger than 1/4 inch, repair work cannot be carried out directly. It is necessary to cut a piece of backing fabric slightly larger than the damaged area, place it under the damaged position and secure it. For damage less than 1/4 inch, flaking or scratches on the surface, the repair can be carried out straight away. 3. The leather repair kit comes with five popular colours. Select the desired colour in the empty mixing tin or mix according to the colour mixing chart to obtain a new colour. Mix the colours well and test in an inconspicuous area. (The leather repair paste has some moisture in it before curing, so the colour will look darker and the final repair colour will be determined by the colour after curing.) 4. Apply the leather repair paste to the damaged area. For large areas, apply evenly with the aid of a brush or sponge. For surface scratches and flaking repairs, dip the black side of the sponge into a small amount of leather repair paste and apply to the damaged area until the original colour is covered. Apply more frequently depending on the actual discolouration of the leather. If reapplication is required, it is recommended to dry for 30 minutes midway and allow the surface to dry slightly before reapplying. (Keep the application thick and even, in terms of film formation). 5. After the repair is finished, remove any residue from the surrounding area as soon as possible. The edges can be beautifully repaired with the aid of a tool such as a cotton swab. Depending on the thickness of the application, wait 24 hours for the repaired surface to dry completely. After the repair has been completed, leave it for 2 days for complete absorption. The surface can be wiped with a damp towel or damp cloth to check the result of the repair. Once completely dry, wipe on the maintenance oil for better results!
