New Pig skimmer sock. Tough, chemical-resistant polypropylene skin and filler absorb oils but repel water-based liquids. Ideal for skimming oil off acid or caustic baths or for use in other acidic environments. Meets NFPA 99 standards for static decay. Attached string allows socks to be tied down, tied together or dipped into tanks. It float at the surface for easy retrieval. Absorbs and retains oil-based liquids - including lubricants and fuels - without taking in a drop of water. Absorbs up to 1 gallon per sock. Absorbency: up to 10 gallon per box. Composition: skin - polypropylene and filler - polypropylene. Measures 3-inches external diameter by 48-inches length.
They do absorb oil as advertised, but I found the socks to be a little too thin for my liking. They’re okay for small spills, but larger ones might need more absorbency. Still, they’re fine for the price.

Disappointed with delivery
The product itself is decent, but my package arrived a bit late and the box was dented. The socks are effective for oil absorbency, but the shipping could definitely be improved. Just be mindful of timing if you order them.

I like how these absorbent socks pick up oil quickly, but after a few uses, they started falling apart. I use them in my workshop, and while they do the job, I’m worried about how long they’ll last.
