The muffler does a decent job on my 2000 Sportsman 500, but I found it a bit louder than I expected. It was easy to install though, which made up for it somewhat. If you want a better sound and don't mind some extra noise, this is a solid choice.

Solid Upgrade for My Sportsman
I recently replaced my old muffler with this one for my 1996 Polaris Sportsman 500, and I couldn't be happier. It fits perfectly and the sound is way better than the stock one! Installation was straightforward, took about an hour. Great value for the price!
