Pos-i-Lok Positive Axle Engagement System For Jeeps 87-95 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) CAD 84-91 Cherokee (XJ) with Dana 30 86-91 Comanche (MJ) with Dana 30Note: With Dana 30 Central Axle Disconnect (CAD)4x4 Posi-Lok replaces the vacuum actuator with a cable operated actuator that puts the driver in control of the engagement from inside the cab. After engaging the transfer case, a one inch pull of the 4x4 Posi-Lok cable connects the right front axle to the intermediate shaft using the shift collar and fork, and 4-wheel drive is engaged! Simply reverse the procedure to disengage 4-wheel drive. 4x4 Posi-Lok also works great with lockers! When the front axle is locked, you can disengage the passenger side in order to make turns without wheel hop.4x4 Posi-Lok Advantages New cast aluminum housing for the central axle disconnect system. Heavy-duty cable system to replace the faulty OE vacuum system. Easy to follow instructions. Complete wiring system to ensure the 4WD dash indicator light functions properly. Discreet dash mounting system. Works like hubs with full control from inside the cab without stopping and reduces front differential wear and right axle breakage. Provides 2-wheel drive low range, giving the vehicle 4-LO torque at the rear axle with bind free steering only available in 2-HI. This feature is not available with factory systems and is beneficial when maneuvering trailers. Will not disengage when ignition is turned off or the differential is submerged. Compatible with manual or electric transfer cases and installation can be completed in one to two hours with basic hand tools. No internal differential work is required.
The Posi-Lok PSL900 does what it's supposed to, but I had some issues with the mechanism sticking a bit after a few uses. I love the concept of axle disconnect for my Jeep, but I expected smoother operation. Hopefully, it gets better as I use it more. Not completely satisfied yet.

Disappointed with the Quality
I was really looking forward to the Posi-Lok PSL900, but the unit arrived with some parts damaged. I managed to get it installed, but it started making a weird noise after a couple of trips. Not what I imagined for a product designed for Jeep enthusiasts. Really bummed about this!

A Bit Confusing at First
The Posi-Lok PSL900 has improved my Jeep's performance, but I struggled with the installation instructions. They could be clearer, especially for someone who's not super mechanical. Once I figured it out, though, it works great for disconnecting the axle when I need to save some gas. Just be patient!

Solid Addition for My Jeep
I installed the Posi-Lok PSL900 on my Jeep, and it's been fantastic for off-roading. The axle disconnect feature really helps with fuel efficiency when I'm not in 4WD. It was pretty straightforward to install, though I did watch a couple of videos to get tips. Definitely worth it!
