Choosing Blue Ox is like having a baseplate custom-made for your vehicle. Blue Ox baseplates are easy on your suspension and even easier on the eye. They have been designed with hidden reinforcement. Blue Ox does not offer a one-size-fits-all support system, but rather a system that is shock absorbing and integrated into the individual bumper frame or unibody with the bumper design of your vehicle. Blue Oxs philosophy is to let the baseplate torsion, or flex, similar to receiver hitches allowing the baseplate to absorb the forces of towing rather than rigidly transferring the forces to the frame of the vehicle.
I recently installed the Blue Ox BX2253 base plate on my Honda Fit for dinghy towing, and it works great. The fit was perfect and installation was straightforward, although it took some time. Very solid construction, feels secure on the road!

Great for Towing, But Packaging Could Improve
The tow bar base plate is very sturdy and fits my Honda Fit Sport perfectly. I love how it handles on the road! However, it arrived with some dents in the packaging, which made me nervous at first. Thankfully, the product was fine. Just be cautious about shipping!
