The Caltric starter does its job well with my 1987 Johnson 40E, but the installation was a bit of a headache. The instructions weren’t super clear, which slowed me down. Once it was in, everything worked great though!

Decent but had minor issues
The starter works fine on my 40TL after a few attempts to set it up. The performance is solid, but I found a small dent on the casing when it arrived. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Otherwise, it starts smoothly!

Not what I expected
Unfortunately, this Caltric starter didn't fit my motor properly even though it’s supposed to be compatible with OMC Johnson models. I had to return it, which was a hassle. Hope I can find one that actually fits!
