A step up from Tube and Fin type coolers, this Plate and Fin cooler features strong furnace-brazed construction, 1 1/4 inch wide plates and turbulators which maximize heat transfer while also minimizing pressure drop. This unit is perfect for medium to full-size cars and intermediate SUVs that see light to medium duty use and some towing. It greatly extends transmission life by preventing heat-related transmission failures, and improve shifting performance. Built with 1/2 inch NPT female cooler ports and includes 1/2 inch NPT x 3/8 inch hose barb adapters. This kit comes with a complete transmission cooler hardware kit to easily install onto vehicles with 5/16 inch transmission cooler lines.
I installed the Derale 13613 transmission cooler on my pickup and it’s been great! The black finish looks sharp, and I’ve noticed my transmission temps staying lower during heavy towing. Definitely a must-have for anyone who hauls regularly.

Great Product for the Price
For a budget-friendly plate and fin cooler like the Derale 13613, it’s performing really well. My oil stays at a good temperature even during long drives. Just wish it came with better mounting hardware — I had to improvise a bit.

Good Cooler, But Installation Was Tricky
The Derale 13613 works well, but I had a hard time figuring out the installation. The instructions could use some improvement. Once it was on, however, it did decrease my oil temps quite a bit, so I'm happy with the cooler itself.

Disappointed with Quality Control
I received the Derale 13613 cooler and noticed a dent on one side right out of the box. It seems to work okay, but I’m worried about long-term durability. Just a bummer because I had high hopes for it based on the reviews.
