This starter is compatible with my 1999 GM 3.4L, and it was a great price! Installation was straightforward, and it's been running well for a couple of weeks now. I think it’s a reliable choice if you're on a budget.

Worked for a while, then failed
I was happy with this OEG starter at first; it fit my Pontiac perfectly and started great. But after 3-4 months, it suddenly stopped working. Now I'm stuck looking for another replacement, which is frustrating.
