Just got this OEG starter for my 2000 Protege, and I’m really impressed! It cranks the engine quickly and quietly. Installation was a breeze too. For anyone with similar models, this is a good buy. I’d totally get another one if needed!

Decent starter but slow shipping
The starter itself works well in my 2001 Protege, but I did have to wait longer than expected for it to arrive. It started right away once installed, so I’m happy with that. Just wish the delivery had been faster!

Worked for a while, then failed
I installed this starter on my 1999 Mazda Protege, and it worked great at first. However, after a couple of months, it started acting up. Not sure if I was just unlucky or if the quality isn't the best. Would be cautious if I were you!
