PennGrade 1 Full Synthetic Hypoid Gear/Blower Racing Lubricant is a specially formulated 100% synthetic, SAE 75W-90 oil designed for use with self-contained systems where SAE 75W, SAE 80W-90 or SAE 90 grade gear oils are recommended. It is suitable for use in Roots and Lysholm Screw type superchargers and may be used in manual transmissions and hypoid differentials where high shock loading is a concern. PennGrade 1 Full Synthetic Hypoid Gear/Blower Racing Lubricant may reduce overall oil temperatures by as much as 15F over conventional gear lubes resulting in longer component life, less drag and more horsepower. This unique formulation offers excellent antifoam characteristics as measured by ASTM D892 and meets or exceeds the following performance requirements of MIL-PRF-2105E, SAE J2360, API MT-1, API GL-5 and Mack GO-J
I used the Penn Grade 1 hypoid gear lube in my race car and it made a noticeable difference in performance. The 1-quart bottle is a perfect size to keep in the garage. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking to improve gear efficiency!

Not quite what I expected
I grabbed this Penn Grade 1 lube for my racing needs, but it didn’t seem to handle the heat as well as I hoped. The performance was average, and I noticed some issues after just a few races. Might try something else next time.
