Permatex High-Temp Red RTV Silicone Gasket Maker is formulated for high temperature applications or heavy-duty use such as towing. It replaces almost any cut gasket by making reliable formed-in-place gaskets that resist cracking, shrinking and migrating caused by thermal cycling. Coats pre-cut gaskets to increase reliability. Resists auto and shop fluids, with a temperature range of -65 degrees fahrenheit to 650 degrees fahrenheit intermittent. A first generation 1970-1980 gasket maker, it is OEM specified. Permatex offers significant performance advantages which include outstanding oil resistance, excellent torque retention and hi-temp, sensor-safe properties. engine sensors and new component materials such as aluminum, bi-metal alloys and high-tech plastics, have created the need for superior RTV silicone gasket makers in both OEM production and service applications. Permatex always has the right gasket maker for your application.
The product itself seems fine, but when it arrived, the box was partially crushed and one tube had leaked a bit. Luckily, I still had enough for my project. Just wish the packaging was sturdier.

Perfect for my gasket needs
I bought the Permatex High Temp RTV for creating gaskets on my car and it has performed flawlessly. The high temp resistance is perfect for my needs. Just be sure to let it cure properly!

Great for my auto repairs
I've used the Permatex High Temp RTV Silicone Gasket for several engine repairs and it works like a charm. The red color is easy to spot when applying, and it holds up well under high temperatures. Just a little goes a long way!

Solid product but tough to dispense
The silicone is great once it's on, but I found the 3 oz tube a bit hard to squeeze. I had to apply more pressure than expected. Still, it did the job well and the pack of 12 is a good value for my workshop.

Disappointed with the performance
Unfortunately, the RTV silicone didn't hold as expected on my last project. It started leaking after a few days. Maybe I applied it wrong, but I was hoping for better results given the brand's reputation.
