Fusible Link wire is designed to open a circuit when an extreme overload occurs. Replacement links should be used only to repair factory installed fusible links with the original length and gauge being matched exactly. Typically, fusible link should be 4 gauges smaller than the circuit wire. **CAUTION:**Do not substitute ordinary wire for fusible links and do not replace fuses with fusible link wire as highly technical calculations are needed to determine the correct length and gauge of the fusible link.
These fusible link wires are decent quality, and I used them for some light fixtures. They over-delivered on flexibility and strength. However, I was expecting to receive a specific color and got something completely different instead, which was a bit annoying. Just be prepared for that.

Solid build for electrical projects
I bought the Pico 8124PT fusible link wire for some home wiring tasks and it worked perfectly. The 12-gauge thickness provides great durability, and I really appreciate that it comes in a pack of four. Just a heads up, the color does vary, which was a bit of a surprise, but not a dealbreaker for me!

Not what I expected
Unfortunately, the Pico 8124PT wires didn’t meet my expectations. One of the wires had a bad connection right out of the package. I was really disappointed because I needed them for an urgent repair. I’ll be looking for a different product next time.
