Thanks to its double height, they deflect the wind that would otherwise hit the helmet and top area of the torso. In the meantime, the side channels pick up air flow and send it sideways with the objective of reducing air pressure from the riders shoulders. . The aerodynamic protection improvement is of 12,7% (on average with the upper body up) versus the original model and of 61% in the position. I thought this windscreen would be more sturdy, but mine came with a slight scratch on it. Installation was fine, but I'm a bit disappointed with the quality control. It works well in reducing wind, but I expected better for the price.

Not Bad, But Could Be Better
The Puig windscreen fits my 2015 R1 pretty well, but I did have some trouble aligning it properly during installation. Once on, it looks good and does the job, just wish the instructions were clearer. It's definitely not a dealbreaker, though!
