If your VW Type 1 trunk is sagging, these Scitoo supports are the way to go. They fit perfectly on my 2006 model and now it opens effortlessly. I’m glad I found these, made a simple fix for a common problem!

Solid replacement for my VW
I replaced the old struts on my 2005 Volkswagen Type 1 with these Scitoo gas springs and they work great. The lift is strong and they were super easy to install — took me less than an hour. Definitely a good buy!

Disappointed, one arrived damaged
Unfortunately, one of the struts didn’t work right out of the box. I contacted customer service and they were pretty helpful, but I still had to wait for a replacement. The other strut works well on my 2009 Type 1, but I expected better quality control.

Not as strong as expected
I was hoping these struts would lift the trunk of my 2004 Type 1 with ease, but they feel a bit weak compared to the original ones. They do the job, but not as smoothly as I'd like. Still, better than nothing!

Decent, but delivery was slow
The Scitoo trunk lift supports are decent for the price, but I had to wait over a week for them to arrive. Once they got here, they fit my 2007 VW Type 1 without any issues and worked well. Just wish shipping was faster.
