Skunk2 designs, develops and tests all valvetrain components in-house to ensure the highest quality and greatest performance gains. During development, all valvetrain components are tested in engines both on the dyno and on the road. Skunk2 valvetrain components provide exceptional performance, reliability, and quality. Skunk2 Pro-Series titanium retainers are CNC-machined in-house from certified medical grade titanium that is milled in the USA. Skunk2 retainers are designed to significantly reduce overall valvetrain mass and are machined to extremely close tolerances in order to ensure properly installed spring heights and pressures. Skunk2 has been supplying titanium retainers to professional racecars and street cars for nearly a decade, and are used on all Skunk2 race and project cars.
I love the Skunk2 retainer, but I had a tough time getting it installed. The instructions were a bit unclear, and I had to watch a couple of YouTube videos to figure it out. Once it was in, though, my engine runs great!

Perfect for VTEC engines
This titanium retainer from Skunk2 is a must-have for anyone with a Honda K-series VTEC engine. It fits perfectly and feels extremely sturdy. The engine feels much more responsive now, especially at higher RPMs. Definitely worth the upgrade!

I received my Skunk2 titanium retainer with a small dent, which was a bummer. It still fits and works fine, but I was hoping for a flawless product. Just be careful with how it’s shipped next time, please!

Not what I expected
I bought this retainer thinking it would drastically improve my K-series engine’s performance. While it’s certainly well made, I didn’t notice a huge difference in power or efficiency. Maybe my expectations were too high, but it’s decent. Just okay for the price.
