Lift supports are pressurized cylinders that are used to support hoods, hatches and rear window glass in automotive applications. Lift supports are also used in many non-automotive applications. Each Strongarm lift support is custom engineered, and manufactured beyond industry standards to provide smoother operating, and longer lasting performance. Lift supports should be replaced in pairs to ensure safe, reliable support of your hood, hatch, or liftgate.
I installed the StrongArm 4401 lift support on my hatchback last week and it works great. The lift is smooth and holds the hatch open just like it should. Installation was straightforward, took me about 15 minutes. Very happy with the purchase!

Decent but a bit tricky to install
The StrongArm 4401 does the job for my SUV hatch, but the installation instructions were a little unclear. Once I figured it out, it works well—holds the hatch open nicely. Just be patient with the setup!

Arrived damaged, not impressed
Unfortunately, my StrongArm 4401 arrived with some dents, which affected how it works. I expected better quality control since this is supposed to be a simple lift support. I’m trying to get a replacement, but this has been a hassle.
