Lift supports are pressurized cylinders that are used to support hoods, hatches and rear window glass in automotive applications. Lift supports are also used in many non-automotive applications. Each Strongarm lift support is custom engineered, and manufactured beyond industry standards to provide smoother operating, and longer lasting performance. Lift supports should be replaced in pairs to ensure safe, reliable support of your hood, hatch, or liftgate.
The Strongarm 4993 lift support does its job well, keeping my hood up without a problem. However, I was a bit disappointed with the shipping time; it took longer than expected to arrive. Overall, it’s a good product but just be ready to wait for it!

Arrived damaged but works fine
I had high hopes for the Strongarm 4993, but when it arrived, one of the supports had a dent in it. After contacting customer service, they sent a replacement quickly. The new one works perfectly, but I wish the packaging had been better!
