This Taylor Made gas shock was a breeze to install using a 10mm socket. It provides 90 lbs of force which is more than enough for my dock box! It's stainless steel, so I expect it to last even with the marine environment. I'm very satisfied with my purchase!

Decent shock, but had a delivery issue
The gas shock itself seems to be of good quality and fits my dock box nicely. However, it took longer than expected to arrive, and the packaging was a bit crumpled. Aside from that, it does the job well with 90 lbs of force and holds everything securely.

Sturdy but slightly too long
I bought this replacement for our boat hatch and while it's well-made from stainless steel, the 20" length was a bit too much for my setup. It works fine, but I wish I had measured more carefully. Still, it operates smoothly with good lifting power!

Solid replacement for my boat hatch

Failed after a few months
I was really happy with this gas shock at first, but after about 3 months of use, it stopped holding pressure. I followed the installation instructions, but it just didn't hold up. Disappointed since it worked well initially.
