Victron Energy Diode Battery Combiners are used to guarantee continuous DC power to mission critical equipment, such as an electronic engine control system. With Victron Energy Diode Battery Combiner two or more DC power sources can be used in parallel to supply the mission critical load. Failure of one source will not interrupt power to the critical load.
The Victron 40A Diode Battery Combiner works well once it's set up correctly. I had some trouble understanding the installation instructions, which could be clearer. Once I got it figured out, it seems to do what it's supposed to do, keeping my two batteries in sync without any overcharging.

Failed after a month of use
I was excited to use the Victron BCD 402, but it stopped working after just one month. I followed all the installation steps correctly, but it just doesn't seem to engage anymore. Very disappointed as I had high hopes for this product.
